Is it really worth it?Nintendo, you're a genius! Sort of! Nintendo's Super Mario series has always been popular, espescially with children. Sure, making levels can be a fun experience, but we'll get back to that later. The real reason Super Mario Maker (SMM) is so popular and still alive in December 2016 is because of its replayabilty. You can not only make your own levels, but you are also able to play levels created by other people through an online course extravaganza. However, the people who make these levels are almost always very young. My guess is that since they're so young, they don't have the neccessary level design skills required to contruct a decent level. As a result, the community is filled with insane levels that contain too many monsters such as big Goombas stacked on top of giant fire-breathing Piranha Plants stacked on top of an enormous lizard-tortoise named Bowser. This specific Bowser also has wings. Get what I mean? Those levels are not fun to play and very poorly made. But in a small corner of the SMM community, there lies a collection of incredibly awesome levels. There are puzzle levels, traditional levels, music levels, auto-levels, and more! These types of cleverly structured levels are the cause of the extreme replayability of Super Mario Maker. Super Mario Maker is not only about playing levels, but also creating them and forcing others play them. If you want to make a level for the first time, I won't be able to help you. You're probably going to have to look up something like "How do I not make a crappy level?" Because when you start making levels, there's an unfair limit of 10 levels. However, if you can actually get your levels noticed and try to get popular, (Trust me, its very hard.) you can actually increase the level limit to 20, then 30, etc. It all comes with effort! Overall, Super Mario Maker is a fantastic game with an ingenius concept and a somewhat creative part of its community. If you're a Mario fan, with a passion for creating things and a love for bad levels, this game is for you! I like it. 8/10 Go check it out!
