Do you want the virtual experience of driving a fast car? Did you just think of Nintendo? Are you thinking about Mario Kart? I bet you sure aren't. Well, if you've ever played a Mario Kart game, you should know that Mario Kart 8 is not the standard "vroom vroom go go go" kind of game. Hidden beneath the child-friendly graphics, this game is intense, competive, sometimes luck-based and competivite. Its also competitive. Did I mention Mario Kart 8 is competive? You get the point. This is that type of game where you race against your friends and attack them with Red Shells, Blue Shells, Green Shells, Piranha Plants, and... wait, is that a banana peel? You bet it is! The items you use in this game are fierce if you use them cleverly, and some are just overpowered. When you've finished playing Mario Kart 8, you'll be either smiling or pouting for the rest of the day. If you're the guy with the huge widescreen TV and you have a bunch of local friends, you can try the split-screen mode and turn this game into major bragging rights if you win a race. But are you that one guy with no social skills, no life, and just sits in front of a computer screen all day? I am! If you are actually like that, you can test your epic skills at the online multiplayer mode, where you can race people you've never met and will never talk to. I'm sure you'll love it. If you want to learn more about Mario Kart 8, go check out some other sites. I'm too lazy to force you to read this. But hey, I really do love this game for its competitive aspects and wide variety of Nintendo characters. I'll give it a: 9/10
